Cooking Up to Lose Weight
Dieting is not just limiting the number of servings that a person should eat per meal. It is about eating smart by cutting down on carbohydrates and changing it with protein. Since people have decided to stay fit, substituting some ingredients with other things in cooking a meal can make dieting fun.
An ideal meal can be served in courses. This can start with soup and an appetizer to help prepare the person’s stomach for the main course. Afterwards, ending the meal with a little dessert won’t hurt.
Soup can be made of different vegetables. Most people prefer mushroom or carrot soup. This can be done by chopping it into a small pieces then throwing it in the pot.
This can be followed next by an appetizer in the form of a salad. Cold cuts like sliced ham and egg added with some vegetables chopped vegetables such as the excess of what was used for the soup can work. Adding it with some green leaves will truly make it work.
The main course should top it off. A good example is Beer Battered Fish. This recipe needs some vegetables, beer, oil and fish. After preheating it then baking it until it is light brown, the person will surely enjoy the smell and taste of it since it has less calories in it.
Other people who prefer meat as a main dish can have some stuffed chicken breasts. The ingredients for this are 2 or three pieces of skinless chicken breasts, eggs, non-fat cheese and spaghetti sauce. After mixing everything and cooking it in the oven, this healthy meal will surely go down easy with only a few calories.
Dessert can be in the form of fruits or a nice pie. Strawberry pie to be exact. This can be made with some non-vanilla pudding, sugar free gelatin and a few pieces of strawberry. After mixing it, this should be left in the refrigerator to harden. By the time the person finished with the main course, this will be frozen already and good to eat. Putting some low fat whip cream is optional.
Dieting does not mean the end of eating some of those juicy meals such as steak or turkey. It just means cutting down on it and adding other more healthy foods with it. This is the same thing any dietitian would say when coming up with a program to help anyone lose weight.
Going on a diet is just one step to helping the person lose those extra pounds. This should also be followed up with proper diet and exercise. This will make losing weight not only happen when eating food at the table but will become part of the person’s daily routine.
